Human II series.

"DemocKorsy / Project Masr (Egypt)" series.
Responding to recent events in Egypt, here are some of my thoughts... a Korsy is a chair, in the Arabic language. The art of disagreement...
"Albena 3ala Masr (Our Heart is with Egypt)".
I'm very pleased to share with you that Saatchi Online have chosen my painting, "Albena 3ala Masr (Our Heart is with Egypt)", to be featured in the collection on their homepage,
"Originals for $1000 and Under".
The selection was handpicked... by the Chief Curator
and Director of the Saatchi Gallery, Rebecca Wilson, which makes the news all the more valued to me. I especially value that
this painting is close to my heart, and meant so much for me to create at the time.
BBC World News interview.
BBC World News asked to interview me about my Egypt inspired paintings - to mark two years since the Revolution began. The show was live around the World... here is the video of "Impact". It's an interesting discussion, and I'm glad that my paintings, in the news studio background, evoke a sense of events in Egypt. Please click on the photo to see the YouTube video.
"Mark Maker" documentary short.
This film portrait, by Documentary Maker Chris Dias, observes and follows the journey of one of my paintings seeing what art really means to me and how it expresses what I feel about the changes in Egypt; an issue that is close to my heart and the hearts of many other British Egyptians.
"(Ancient) Egyptian Fayyoum Painting".
"Gaia" - Live painting at Mozilla Firefox, exhibited at Whitechapel Gallery.
I'm honoured to add that our project was exhibited in one of London's top contemporary galleries, The Whitechapel Gallery. For more information on the project please visit the Video page or follow this link for more photos.
New Monoprints. "Human Emotions" series.
I've been experimenting with creating Monoprints, as the most painterly print technique. The focus on light and dark is intriguing to me. I admire the way these faces, for me, attempt to capture a range of human emotions familiar to us all.
Dahab - International Art Residency.

I'm honoured to share with you that I've been selected for an International Art Residency in Egypt, Dahab at ElSahara, Red Sea Resort... to explore the subtle and unique colours in the corals, and to create art that responds to Dahab's landscape isA. I've recently exhibited my Art in the "International Dahab Underwater Art Festival" where my paintings were submerged in the Red Sea.
I'd never before experienced anything like this, or dived..."Underwater Art Festival" provided the chance to absorb the environment - to think, learn, observe, and write about it...I'll return perhaps later for my Residency. To keep in touch with the progress of my Residency in Dahab, and underwater adventures click here to see the pictures, or click on the poster design.

Project Masr (Egypt).
Events in Egypt, over the past few years, have taken over my thoughts. And so here is my artistic response...painted at different times, some more hopeful than others. More Egypt inspired paintings can be found here.
