Biography

Picasso said: "I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them."  This approach of moving beyond merely representing or attempting to replicate the world around me is my approach to art. This thought process informs the way I paint and inspires me to work towards what Kandinsky described as “non objective” painting, where “colour and forms are promoted as a means of expression in their own right”.

I am a young artist inspired by the world around us all, be it the seemingly mundane or the spectacular…there is inspiration to be found in the strangest places. This is why I always carry a camera with me, hoping to catch another piece of inspiration…and therefore some of my work starts life with a photo, as you will see in the gallery section. Being of Arab origin naturally provides many inspirations and adds to the western influences I can draw on. Conversely I also work solely from imagination, freeing myself from representational artwork, allowing experimentation with a variety of techniques.

I can currently be found exhibiting on Sundays at The Bayswater Road Art Gallery, London (along Hyde Park railings) pitch 41. I also welcome commissions in a variety of styles, as I hope my galleries provide an impression of.

"Painting from nature is not copying the object; it is realizing one's sensations." Cezanne

A notably significant quote from Picasso is: "Everyone wants to understand art. Why don't people try to understand the song of a bird? Why do people love the night, the flowers and everything around us without insisting on understanding them? But when it comes to a picture, people think they must "understand" it.

"If only they would realise that an artist creates because he must create.”
